Even today, its hard to argue the advertisers points, the MK1 MX-5 went on to change the market for the small sports car rekindling the spirit of the 1960’s sports car with Japanese engineering reliability.
The press at the time praised the car with quotes such as ‘ Nimble, precise,even smooth’ and ‘Just born and already a star’.
This exceptional, low ownership, 1990 example presented in the magnificent launch specification has somehow escaped the hands of the modifiers and the tin worm and must be considered a true survivor. Retaining its originality including the paint protected sills and rear wheel arch spot welds it represents a wonderful original example of the iconic Japanese roadster. The model correct vinyl soft top is immaculate with an unmarked plastic rear screen.
