What is it?
BMW 840 Ci Sport.
It was at the 1989 Frankfurt Motor Show that BMW presented a car that would become one of its modern classics, the 8 Series Coupe, with pillarless doors, pop up head lights and a vast sunroof the car was a hit from day one.
Known as the E31 and built for only ten years between ‘89 and ‘99, ‘E31’ was a ‘clean-sheet’ design that could trace its lineage way back to BMW’s stylish coupes from the 1930s.
This two owner Sport example is finished in rare gleaming calypso red metallic paintwork with Silver-grey leather interior, sports seats and M-Tech aero kit.
What’s it got?
Over and above the huge raft of standard features such as Automatic Stability control, on board computer and Airbags the car has the following desirable options-
Dynamic damper control, M Sport Package, M-Tech aero kit, throwing star Alloy wheels (incl spare), Sports seats, electric steering adjustment and Hifi Loudspeaker System.

How does it drive?
Even by today’s standards the E31 is fast, The wider tyres and stiffer suspension on the Sport result in little body roll, enormous amounts of grip allow the car to gather and maintain speed well through flowing bends in extreme luxury. The high-end image its suave looks and moneyed status remain as clear they did in the 90’s.
Why this one?
It’s rare to find one in Calypso red but having only two (related) keepers and full-service history makes this example extremely desirable. Complete with the original sales invoice, original service invoices, tax discs, 2 keys and fobs and a complete owners book pack marks the car out as a well maintained, well serviced example.
