1995 Peugeot 106 Rallye S1
An unmolested survivor example owned by one family from new supported with a comprehensive Peugeot dealer history.
Delightfully original coming with the full bookpack, historic MOTs, original sales invoice and retaining the original dealer plates and stickers and the original radio.
Presented in lustrous Black paintwork and optioned as a Non-ABS car.
Weighing in at just 825KG the 106 Rallye may well be the best way to sample Peugeot at what is generally considered its hot hatchback peak.
Launched in the UK at the London Motor Show in late October 1993 when the market was obsessed with alloy wheels Peugeot had the confidence in the cars ability to supply the Rallye in a choice of only three colours with white-painted Michelin steel wheels and wind-up windows. Inside were model specific bucket seats, red carpets and belts, a stylish 3 spoke steering wheel and an absence of central locking. The exhaustive list of optional extras offered were a sunroof and ABS.
The eight-valve, single overhead camshaft unit featured a high-compression cylinder head, dedicated intake manifold, and a suitably mountainous camshaft to enable 100bhp at a lofty 7200rpm.
Take the car for a drive and experience for yourself the sensations referenced within the outstanding period and contemporary road reviews .
The 106 Rallye remains to this day an exceptional drivers car, providing a rich stream of information to the driver with exceptional steering, sharp throttle response and delightfully swift five-speed gearshifts, while even a lack of power assisted steering can’t hide the agility that comes from such light kerbweights.
Cars aren’t made like this anymore which is a genuine shame.
