We are delighted to have completed a 12-month restoration of our 1978 Leyland Mini 1275GT.
With originality being the motivator, we have retained as many as the original components as practicably possible.
The Shell was stripped and then taken back to bare metal with any repairs undertaken using new Heritage Panels where required. The underside has been primed, stone chipped then painted in body colour to preserve the car for future custodians.
The car retains its original engine and gearbox which have received a recommission service along with new oil seals and a tune up.
Last on the road in 1996, this delightful and cheeky GT presented in its original, vibrant Vermillion red has only three former keepers having been with the last owner for some 37 years covering a mere 34,000 miles!
The interior is perfectly preserved with the original and correct brown ‘Deckchair’ material seats, three clock dash and leather-bound boomerang steering wheel. Externally, the paint finish is superb complimented with the original Sundym green glass, original wheel trims complete with centre caps and nut covers.
All suspension and running gear is new offering the same thrilling experience the car would have offered in back in 1978.
