What is it?
2001 Wrangler TJ Sahara special edition.
Introduced in 1996, the second-generation (TJ) Wrangler is easily identified by the round headlamps from the classic Jeep models. This updated Wrangler featured a modern coil-sprung suspension, offering significantly improved ride quality. Wranglers make for a great spring and summer vehicle with a fully detachable soft roof and option to remove the doors entirely!
What’s it got?
This unmodified example, with only 66k miles, was supplied new by H R Owen in Sept 2001 in Forest green metallic paint with smart denim green model specific interior trim. For your luxuries it comes with power steering, an AM/FM/cassette stereo and a carpeted cargo area, the original factory hardtop with heated rear window and wash wipe for winter comfort and practicality along with a new ‘Besttop supertop’ soft top and frame(£860). A recently fitted and unused, Steinhof tow-bar with full electrics, give the ability to tow a small recreational trailer.
How does it drive?
The Wrangler continues to be the quintessential off-road icon with a gutsy 4.0-litre inline-six engine that makes 190 horsepower and 235 maximum foot-pounds of torque, its petite size and tight turning radius make it a blast to manoeuvre, being ULEZ compliant with an auto gearbox also makes for a great city car choice.
The smart factory upgraded 16-inch alloy wheels fitted with new Forceum ATZ all-season tyres allow for stable driving on all terrains via the Command-Trac system.
Why this one?
The vehicle has clearly been cherished having a full service history, backed up with 16 service stamps (main dealer and specialist) and remains unmodified. The interior is immaculate and shows very little sign of wear.
