Porsche Cayman S (987.1)  for sale

Finished in classic Carrara White with Black leather interior.

72,000 miles

6 speed Manual gearbox

About the Porsche Cayman S:

What did raise a few eyebrows was just how close to the final specification of an entry-level 911 Carrera the top-model Cayman, the S, actually proved to be….

With a 6-speed manual gearbox, 291bhp and a top speed of 171mph, the Cayman is a worthy component for many ‘superior’ sports cars. Fun to drive, easy to own and more than pleasing on the eye, we are starting to see the first signs of a classic car following for the early 987 Cayman.

This pre-facelift 2007 example shows 72,000 miles and boasts some choice modifications, added by the current owner. These include a Sports Exhaust,  Carbon Rear Wing Alcantara steering wheel/ gearknob and upgraded Touch Screen Media system.

Crucially it has been ‘scoped and confirmed that there is no bore scoring – the achilles heel of Porsches of this era. A brief overview of the service history reads as follows:

13,465 miles April 2009
28,841 miles July 2011
37,326 miles July 2012
40,750 miles July 2013
44,407 miles July 2014
33,434 miles July 2015
59,419 miles Aug 2017
61,000 miles Sept 2018
72,000 miles June 2020

Recently it’s had the track rod ends replaced, with the tracking set up by Sports & Classic – not something that was necessary but it’s nice to deal with MOT advisories before they turn into major issues.

In 2020 £1550 was spent on a new clutch, dual mass flywheel and the IMS bearing offering piece of mind for the next owner.

A 987 Cayman is a pure joy to drive out in the wild, offering scintillating performance with refined handling, all driven through a naturally aspirated engine and a slick six-speed manual gearbox.

With some choice modifications and coming from long term ownership, this Cayman would make a lovely addition to your garage.
