What is it?
When it comes to discreet efficiency, few cars can rival the Audi A4. To the untrained eye, this looks like a normal A4, but to those in the know it’s something subtly special. The Audi 1.8T Sport offers a sporty premium car for those who don’t want to shout about it. The second-generation A4 was launched in December 2000 offering a mild external face lift along with some interior switch gear lifted from the premium A6 range. The B6 A4 still represents the high water mark.
What’s it got?
Over and above the high standard specification the ‘Sport’ features a sport suspension set-up. Lowered by 20mm with firmer damping offering sports handling characteristics. In addition, sports front seats with electric lumbar adjustment hold you tight in place, the wheels are upgraded 16 inch 5-arm ‘Trapez’ design alloy wheels fitted with new Pirelli Cinturato 225/55/16 tyres.
The ‘Sport’ specification also includes a sports leather 3 spoke steering wheel, leather gear knob and gaiter and gloss black trim strips framing the side windows.
How does it drive?
When you combine the relative light weight, manual gearbox and a turbo, the Sport is a joy to drive. It’s sporting nature and inherent Audi agility make it a seriously capable saloon car. You wont fail to be impressed by the Audi’s steering feel, taught suspension and the little Audi’s sheer verve.
Why this one?
Our extremely low-mileage example finished in Light silver metallic paintwork has been owned by one family from new and presents in superb condition inside and out coming with the unmarked Phoenix cloth interior.
The car remains delightfully original, drives well and comes with full supporting history, owners document pack and two sets of dealer supplied keys, one of which is unused!
The A4 was a runaway success when new and all but almost impossible to find in this low-mileage original condition today. The clean lines still hold up well today, the perfect choice if you’re looking for a classy and luxurious compact executive machine.
