Description
2005 Vauxhall Astra Bertone Convertible ‘Exclusive’.
The Vauxhall Astra ‘G’ arrived in 1998 and would remain in production until the Astra ‘H’ arrived in 2004.
In 2000 the elegant convertible and coupe models arrived, which wouldn’t be replaced by a H platform cabriolet until the Twin Top was launched in 2006.
Between 2000 and 2006 the ‘Bertone’ cars were made in Italy, available with a choice of engaging engines. These were 1.6, 1.8 and 2.2 litre naturally aspirated engines or the 2.0 litre Turbo.
The Bertone styling gave the Vauxhall an elegant roof line, making the convertible one of the finest looking four-seat convertibles of it’s era, and this attractive silhouette still looks fantastic today.
As a modern classic, a Bertone convertible makes a very practical and easy to live with soft top. The hydraulic roof opens at the flick of a switch, taking less than 30 seconds to lower the roof, a trick that can even be done remotely using the key fob.
The car shown here is an exceptional example, and possibly the finest in the country. Showing just 36,000 miles from new, this is an opportunity to acquire one of the finest modern classics from Vauxhall, a car that’s ready to be used, enjoyed and shown.
Vauxhall enthusiasts will notice a few trick upgrades that this car boasts, notably the rear deck lid humps and Irmscher goodies. This car has come from a loving long term home, where it has enjoyed a cosseted life with a passionate owner. Not to be missed.
